Latest local police logs include an elderly man reportedly urinating on a neighbor’s vehicle, several reckless driving incidents, assault outside an urgent care center, and residents at two different apartment complexes reporting that pieces of their exhaust system had been stolen from off their vehicles.
The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Tuesday, April 9, 2019. Additional bulletins are linked at the end of this article.
Tuesday, April 9, 2019: Total of 74 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 21 calls regarding suspicious activities, 18 disturbance-related, 6 homeless/transient-related, 1 grand theft, 7 petty thefts, 1 burglary, 2 assault reports, 4 collisions, 2 stolen vehicles, and no reports of domestic violence.
8:23 a.m., Reckless Driving, Antelope/I-80. Police were contacted by a caller who said occupants of a truck were reportedly “throwing stuff” out of the vehicle at them.
8:47 a.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Lynnetree/Sungarden. An elderly man was reportedly seen urinating on a van in a residential neighborhood near the FoodMaxx shopping plaza on Sunrise Boulevard.
11:02 a.m., Petty Theft, Kohls on San Juan Ave. A shopper was believed to be overheard inside a Kohl’s fitting area removing tags from items. Several hours later police were contacted again regarding a Kohl’s customer who left without paying for a pair of shoes, valued at $55.
11:11 a.m., Reckless Driving, Greenback/Indian River. A driver was reportedly seen driving erratically on Greenback Lane with her “mouth hanging open.” Police were told the driver had almost hit another vehicle.
12:32 p.m., Disturbance Loitering, Living Word Christian Fellowship on Greenback Ln. Several individuals were asked to leave the church premises on Sunday, but were still reportedly loitering at the location.
1:00 p.m., Disturbance Loitering, Starbucks at Sylvan Corners. Two customers were reportedly “yelling at staff” inside Starbucks.
1:04 p.m., Grand Theft, Sunrise Center Apartments on Sunrise Vista Dr. A vehicle owner reported that their catalytic converter had been stolen. Another vehicle had a muffler reported stolen an hour later, from the Greenback Gardens Apartments.
1:20 p.m., Stolen Vehicle, Regan Ct. Police were contacted by a man who said his motorcycle had been stolen three years ago, but was never reported.
2:24 p.m., Vandalism, Kelly Moore Paint on Greenback Ln. The gas line of a work vehicle parked at Kelly Moore Paint was reportedly cut overnight, and fuel from the vehicle was taken.
5:14 p.m., Stolen Vehicle, Vintage Oaks Senior Apartments on Stock Ranch Rd. A vehicle was reportedly stolen from a senior apartment complex on Stock Ranch Road. It had last been seen the prior day at 3:30 p.m. The caller was confirmed to be in possession of the only keys to the vehicle.
6:52 p.m., Assault, Urgent Care Now at Fair Oaks Blvd. A male was reportedly observed hitting a female in a vehicle parked outside an urgent care center at the intersection of Sunrise and Fair Oaks boulevards.
8:33 p.m., Petty Theft, Red Robin on Greenback Ln. Police were contacted after a customer left the restaurant without paying a $60 bill.
