The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Sunday, June 9, 2019.
Sunday, June 9, 2019: Total of 73 incidents listed. Incident report categories of note: 22 calls regarding suspicious activities, 18 disturbance-related, 5 homeless-related, 3 assaults, 1 burglary, 1 petty theft, no grand thefts, 4 collisions, 3 domestic violence reports, and no reports of stolen vehicles.
1:59 a.m., Domestic Violence, Birdcage St. A woman reported that she had been in a fight with her boyfriend and he allegedly “threw her on the bed and strangled her.”
10:41 a.m., Homeless Camp, Greenback Gardens Apartments on Burich Ave. Police were advised that a homeless camp was set up near an apartment complex behind Fire Station 21 on Greenback Lane. A tent, three bicycles and a “thin white female adult removing clothing” were observed at the camp.
10:42 a.m., Reckless Driving, Oakbrook/Creekcrest. Several children, around 11-12 years of age, were reportedly driving around a neighborhood on golf carts “acting like they’re going to run over people and cutting in front of vehicles.”
12:55 p.m., Burglary, Kingsmill Wy. A resident returned home after being gone for the weekend and found her front door open and the house ransacked. No suspect information was available.
1:44 p.m., Assault w/Weapon, Taco Bell at Antelope/Sunrise. Police were called after a 35-year-old man reportedly picked up a chair and attempted to assault another customer inside Taco Bell.
1:44 p.m., Reckless Driving, Old Auburn/Wickham. A witness called police after observing a road rage incident involving a man getting out of his truck and punching the door of another vehicle.
2:31 p.m., Disturbance Loitering, Walmart on Auburn Blvd. Loss prevention personnel at Walmart called police to advise that a woman in her mid-twenties was causing a disturbance in the jewelry department. She was reportedly “throwing merchandise, eating food and refusing to leave.”
3:04 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances on Pacheco Way. A condemned residence on Pacheco Way reportedly had transients living inside. Police were told that transients were observed bringing tarps inside through a back door and were putting up cardboard in the windows.
4:00 p.m., Petty Theft, Walgreens at Greenback/Sunrise. Police were called after a “grab and run” incident occurred at Walgreens, involving a suspect stealing two 12-packs of beer.
5:15 p.m., Robbery, Sprouts Farmers Market on Greenback Ln. A woman reported being assaulted the prior night outside Sprouts Farmers Market. She said a man on a bike had “jumped her, grabbed her phone, broke it and took her bag.”
6:01 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, at Taco Bell on Antelope/Sunrise. Police were called after Taco Bell employees reportedly locked the doors on customers who were still inside. Customers were reportedly “not free to leave” and had to wait for employees to let them out. One employee reportedly told the caller that the reason was due to “an issue with their register,” which the caller told police “makes no sense.”
6:15 p.m., Indecent Exposure, Leatherby’s Family Creamery on Antelope Rd. A man who was sitting outside of Leatherby’s reportedly stood up and urinated in front of the restaurant, exposing himself to customers. Police were advised that the man appeared to have been drinking.
