A 37-year-old Citrus Heights man and another man from Sacramento were arrested by out-of-state authorities over the weekend after 44 pounds of marijuana were reportedly found inside the vehicle they were driving.
According to ABC 17-Missouri, state highway troopers arrested the pair on Jan. 4 around 10:30 p.m. after finding the marijuana in their vehicle, along with prescription medication hydrocodone.
The men in the vehicle were identified as Braden Crawford of Citrus Heights and Thomas Weatherwax, 30, of Sacramento. The pair were allegedly driving the marijuana from California to Kentucky, a spokesman for the Missouri State Highway Patrol told ABC 17.
Online booking information obtained on Wednesday indicated both men face possible charges of delivery of controlled substances, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as a prior drug offense.
