Sentinel staff report–
Three female suspects from the Bay Area were arrested by police over the weekend after they allegedly stole thousands of dollars in products from a Citrus Heights Walgreens and then proceeded to rob another Walgreens in Folsom.
The trio were arrested by the Folsom Police Department after authorities received a call of a theft in progress at a Walgreens on Riley Street. The caller said suspects were observed filling trash bags filled with more than $1,000 in cosmetics.
The suspects fled in a white Nissan Altima, but were soon located on Highway 50 where officers were led on a 20-mile pursuit with speeds over 120 miles per hour, police said in a post on Facebook. The three women were arrested after their vehicle caused a collision on Highway 50 near Watt Avenue.
The collision sent a pregnant mother to the hospital, but police said the mother and baby have since been released and are ok.
“We are so glad that no one was seriously injured, and we are proud of the vigilant employees that provided us with the information necessary to locate these thieves,” police said on Facebook.
Police identified the suspects as 23-year-old Taylor Ross, 18-year-old Tiera Williams and 23-year-old Gwendolyn Scott, all residents of San Francisco. The trio have been charged with grand theft, conspiracy and reckless evading causing injury.
