A 23-year-old man from Citrus Heights was arrested by Placer County Sheriff’s deputies after an early morning traffic stop on westbound Interstate 80, the department said in a social media post on Tuesday.
A news release by sheriff’s department said the suspect, Jarrett Tanforan, was a passenger in the vehicle involved, which was pulled over near Atlantic Street in the early morning hours of November 17. He, and the unidentified driver, were both determined to be on probation.
Officers found ammunition and a bag of heroin in the vehicle. A loaded .38 Ruger revolver was found stuffed between the front passenger seat and the car door, according to the release.
Tanforan was arrested for being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of heroin, and other charges. Additional information about the driver of the vehicle was not immediately available.
