Sentinel staff report–
The overnight breakage of an 8-inch underground water main forced the closure of Old Auburn Road on Thursday as emergency crews worked to repair the pipe.
Video from CBS 13 taken Thursday morning showed water bubbling up from a hole in the middle of the roadway. As of 9 a.m., the roadway was still closed in both directions at Twin Oaks Avenue.
The Citrus Heights Water District said only one residential customer’s water service was affected by the break.
A spokeswoman said in an email Thursday afternoon that water service had been restored and the roadway had been reopened in both directions.
