Two men who allegedly entered Pastor’s Valero convenience store on Saturday and worked together to steal an employee’s purse have been identified by police.
The business posted an announcement and high definition photos of the suspects on social media over the weekend saying one individual distracted an employee while the other stole the employee’s purse.
“The man in the grey distracted the cashier as the man in the black CRAWLED ON HIS HANDS AND KNEES, stole the purse and then stuffed it into his pants,” the announcement said. Cards from the purse were then reportedly used to send money to several individuals and also make purchases at several gas stations in Antelope.
The business called the theft “a planned event,” saying the suspects parked in a rear parking lot before walking in. The vehicle also reportedly had no front license plate, and had the rear plate covered.
Citrus Heights Police Lt. Michael Wells said officers responded to Pastor’s Valero on Feb. 6 and began an investigation. Both individuals were identified in the course of the investigation, and a warrant was requested for their arrest, he said.
The incident comes just weeks after an individual wearing a Monopoly sweatshirt broke in and stole tobacco items from the convenience store. That individual has also been identified and arrested.
