Homeless count delayed amid Omicron spike
KCRA 3 reported Monday that a planned countywide count of homeless individuals originally set for Jan. 26-27 will instead take place next month on Feb. 23-24. The count has typically occurred once every two years in January, but was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The latest delay is due to the current spike in coronavirus activity. (See article)
SJUSD attendance drops to 80%
The San Juan Unified School District reported during a Jan. 11 board meeting that attendance the past week had sharply dropped, as cases of COVID-19 spike. On Jan. 4 the district said attendance was at 88.25%, while on Jan. 10 that dropped to 80.82%. (See board briefs)
Citrus Heights police hiring for 5 positions
The City of Citrus Heights is currently hiring two police officers, along with one reserve officer and two police dispatchers. Postings at CalOpps.org list additional details and pay for each position.
