In a change from the usual meeting day of Thursday, Citrus Heights City Council members will meet Wednesday, July 10, to discuss a draft Citizen Participation Plan Amendment, hear an update on the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan for the Community Development Block Grant Program, and hear city Lighting and Landscape Maintenance Assessment reports for fiscal year 2024/2025. A public hearing will be convened regarding the ordering of the collection of Solid Waste delinquencies on the property tax roll.
The council will also consider awarding a construction contact for the Dewey Drive/Van Maren Lane Enhancement Project, formally receive funding from the California Highway Patrol Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program, and consider approving a contract amendment for the Auburn Boulevard Complete Streets Revitalization Project.
Draft Citizen Participation Plan Amendment
In accordance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) the City is required to implement a detailed Citizen Participation Plan (CPP). The City Council will consider approving a draft citizen participation plan amendment, and consolidated plan update for the Community Development Block Grant for 2025-2029. The city receives $600,000 annually in Community Development Block Grant funding. Funds are issued from HUD.
Landscape Maintenance Assessment District assessments
The council will hear annual financial reports regarding landscaping maintenance assessments on several districts throughout the city, including Stock Village, Sorenson Ranch, Autumnwood, Mariposa Creek, Wyatt Ranch, Stock Ranch and Mitchell Farms. The City Council will convene a public hearing for each district regarding the proposed annual assessment for fiscal year 2024/2025, which are paid by property owners. Collection of delinquencies on the property tax roll.
A report of delinquent Solid Waste charges was prepared by Republic Services and filed with the city listing delinquent charges that were due as of March 1, 2024. City Council declared its intention in a June 13 City Council meeting to collect delinquencies on the property tax roll and set a public hearing on the report of delinquencies for the July 10 City Council meeting. Staff mailed notice of the public hearing to each property owner listed on the report at least ten days prior to the scheduled public hearing.
Those wishing to make a public comment during the meeting can do so by attending the council meeting on Wednesday, June 10 at City Hall at 6 p.m., or by submitting a written comment beforehand using the city’s website.
