Citrus Heights police have arrested one man after neighbors reportedly tackled a suspected burglar to the ground following a stabbing at a home near Greenback Lane and San Juan Avenue, according to area news reports.
The incident reportedly occurred sometime around 6 a.m. Wednesday on Rowan Way, leaving a woman in her 40s with several stab wounds, CBS 13 reported. The station also interviewed a neighbor who assisted in capturing the suspect.
“The neighbor behind us was yelling get that guy, call 911, he’s trying to break into her house,” neighbor Josh Estrella told reporters. He said his neighbor was outside trying to catch the suspect so he went to go help and “tackled the guy down,” holding him on the ground until police arrived.
Police believe the sole suspect was acting alone and had entered the home through a sliding glass door where an altercation occurred with the woman, according to CBS 13.
The suspect’s identity had not yet been released by police, as of 10 a.m.
