Upgrades to the existing 12,500-square-foot Sylvan Oaks Library located at the corner of Auburn Boulevard and Van Maren Lane are on track towards completion when the library reopens mid-summer 2019, according to contractors working on site.
The library closed its doors on Dec. 16 while it undergoes various upgrades and modernization improvements. Construction began in early January 2019.
Now gutted inside, workers have finished framing two new study rooms and a nearly 400-square-foot addition which will serve as a multi-use room. Partition walls have also been completed and new insulation has been added between the ceiling beams above.
New flooring, lighting and furniture, along with the replacement of several window walls were included in the renovation plans, according to the Sacramento Public Library’s website.
