Checkpoint nets DUI arrest, 39 other citations
A Friday night DUI and Driver’s License Checkpoint in Citrus Heights was held on Sunrise Boulevard at Oak Avenue, netting one DUI arrest and one felony warrant arrest. A total of 738 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, with eight sobriety field tests administered. Police said 10 vehicles were towed and 39 citations were issued for various other violations.
Coroner identified man killed in Citrus Heights wrong-way crash
CBS 13 reported Tuesday that the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has identified the driver killed in last weekend’s fatal crash on Auburn Boulevard as 48-year-old Earl Allen. Police said the car was travelling the wrong way when it collided with a traffic signal pole on Oct. 24. Intoxication was suspected by police. (See CBS 13 story)
Man identified in fatal police shooting
The 64-year-old man who was killed after he reportedly shot at Citrus Heights police on Monday has been identified as Bruce Allan Shumaker, according to CBS 13. No additional information about the man or incident has been released. (See CBS 13 update)
Citrus Heights PD sued for alleged age discrimination
A former support services manager, 57-year-old Sandy Richards, has filed a lawsuit against the Citrus Heights Police Department for alleged age discrimination after she was fired, according to The Sacramento Bee. (See article)
