Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery outside the Citrus Heights Kohl’s store that took place Tuesday afternoon.
Citrus Heights Police Lt. Michael Wells said officers responded to the Kohl’s parking lot at 6135 San Juan Ave., on Aug. 31 around 12:50 p.m. The alleged victim reported that an individual had “brandished a knife and demanded his belongings.” The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 5-feet-7-inches tall and 150 pounds, with a tattoo near his left eye.
The suspect reportedly fled the area in a black SUV with the victim’s belongings, police said. Officers searched the area for the vehicle, but did not locate it.
Wells said an investigation is ongoing, and police are looking for any additional evidence. The Citrus Heights Police Department’s crime tip line is: (916) 727-5524.
A description of the incident was also shared on social media, where a woman said the suspect had approached her husband while he was with their 2-year-old daughter in the Kohl’s parking lot and robbed him at knife-point. She said the suspect fled the scene in a black Chevy Trailblazer driven by an accomplice.
The Sentinel reached out to the woman through social media for additional information, but a response had not been received by press time.
