Injury collision shuts down Oak Avenue intersection
An injury collision on Friday morning involving two vehicles prompted police to shut down the intersection of Oak Avenue and Kenneth Avenue near the border of Citrus Heights. Police announced the closure around 9:30 a.m. on April 22, and four hours later sent an email alert to media notifying that the roadway had been reopened. (See tweets)

Obituary: Chester J. Pallach, Sr. (1929-2022)
Citrus Heights resident Chester Pallach passed away on April 3 after a long illness, according to an obituary published last week in The Sacramento Bee. The Illinois native was noted for his work in type setting as a compositor and retired after more than two decades of work with the State Printing office. He leaves behind his wife, son and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A mass of Christian burial was held on April 21 at Holy Family Catholic Church. (See full obituary)

Thousands of donated supplies for Ukraine collected at Citrus Heights event
Sunrise MarketPlace reported that its donation drive last weekend brought in more than 4,000 donations of supplies to support Ukrainians in need of protective gear and medical supplies as the country defends itself against Russian troops. Donated items included 180 tourniquets, 8 pairs of tactical boots, a bulletproof vest and thousands of items of various medical supplies. The four-hour event was held in coordination with Deep Roots of Ukraine, which seeks to continue collecting more supplies.
