Night paving on Greenback Lane planned to begin June 5

Sentinel staff report–
Contractors are slated to begin repaving a section of Greenback Lane this Sunday, continuing each night for the following week.

The repaving work will span from Sunrise Boulevard to Fair Oaks Boulevard, the city said in a Facebook post on Wednesday. Beginning June 5, drivers are advised to allow extra time to travel through the area during the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The work is part of the Greenback Lane Complete Streets Project, which includes storm drain upgrades, new curb ramps, electrical upgrades to traffic signals, utility upgrades and intersection reconstruction.

The City Council in January awarded a $3 million contract to McGuire and Hester for completing the Greenback Lane project. The council also approved a related $335,000 contract with Psomas for construction management.

The project began March 14 and is expected to continue through late summer or early fall, according to initial projections from the City Manager’s office.
