By Sara Beth Williams– Citrus Heights families are preparing to return to school mid-August. Before the school year begins, the Sunrise MarketPlace wants to offer families one last summer event, free of charge.
The Back to School Block Party will be held on Saturday, July 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sunrise Mall. According to an event listing page, a host of free activities will be available for families, including a rock wall, bungee jump, giant checkers, corn hole, giant building blocks, photo booth, and more.
A $20 gift card for the first 50 participants who complete six to 12 activities will also be offered. Participants can redeem a gift card by turning in an activity sheet.
The goal, says Lisa Cordell, Sunrise MarketPlace marketing and special projects manager, is to bring awareness and traffic to the business district, which is made up of businesses in the Sunrise-Greenback corridor.
“The event allows neighbors to come out and enjoy the heart of Citrus Heights and have a little fun all at no charge,” said Cordell.
