Citrus Heights woman arrested in Lincoln
Gold Country Media reported in police logs released on Thursday that a 30-year-old Citrus Heights woman had been arrested at 1:03 a.m. on July 11 in Lincoln “for warrants and being under the influence at 1st Street/D Street.” She was identified as Krystal Rose Duarte, and booked into the South Placer Jail.
Obituary: Nathan “Nate” Horton (2002-2022)
Twenty-year-old Nathan Horton, of Citrus Heights, passed away on July 17, according to an obituary published Saturday in The Sacramento Bee. Horton is remembered for being “a brother and friend to all he met,” and spent much of his time skateboarding at Maidu Skate Park in Roseville. (See full obituary)
Van with donations for homeless stolen in Citrus Heights
ABC 10 reported last weekend that a Citrus Heights family had a van packed with donations for the homeless was stolen from outside their home on July 14. The family told the news outlet that 50 backpacks filled with donations were in the van. (See full story)
City tree trimming, removal project to start July 25
The city said in a social media post on Friday that a tree trimming and removal project will begin Monday in an open space area off Twin Oaks Avenue, near Crestmont Avenue. The project will involve “tree trimming, non-native tree removal, and removal of hazardous trees overhanging private property or the walking trail,” the city said. (See map)
