Sentinel staff report–
Drivers traveling through Sylvan Corners on Saturday evening could see more than half-a-dozen police units in the area, with multiple units blocking a lane of traffic on Auburn Boulevard and another four units in the Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot.

A request for comment from an officer at the scene was referred to the police dispatch call center, where an on-duty sergeant was not immediately available.

The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m., with police still observed on scene at 6:25 p.m. Three police vehicles were blocking a southbound lane of Auburn Boulevard, behind a white Chevy Silverado pickup truck that collided with a tree in the center median.

Heavy damage to the truck was observed on the front end of the driver’s side and several officers were seen interviewing individuals on the sidewalk.

Four more police vehicles were seen across the street in the KFC parking lot, but it was unclear if police there were responding to the same incident.
