Hot August Movie Night, car show to be held this weekend at Rusch Park

Sentinel staff report–
Hot August Movie Night at Rusch Park is slated to kick off this Saturday, Aug. 13, with a classic car show, followed by a free swim at the pool, food trucks, and a showing of the animated film, Luca.

The Nor Cal Cruisers Car Show will be held in the Veteran’s Grove of the park from 3:30-7:30 p.m., according to an event flier posted by the Sunrise Recreation and Parks District. Free swimming at the Rusch Pool will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the movie will begin showing at dusk.

The event flier also says food trucks will be on site, beginning at 5 p.m. The evening’s activities will be held on the park’s Auburn Boulevard side, located at 8501 Auburn Blvd.

Hot August Movie Night is an updated version of the park’s prior “Hot August Bites” events that were held each August prior to the pandemic. After the event was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, the park opted to bring back the event as a movie night.
