2023 Citrus Heights Police Log Spotlight: Dec. 7-13

Latest local police logs include a midnight burglary arrest at a dental office, homeless camps reported at multiple locations, a verbal disturbance on Sayonara Drive resulting in an arrest, and vandalism reported at Panera Bread.

A Sentinel review of the seven most recent incident logs show a total of 1,143 incidents listed from Dec. 7-13, down from 1,201 the week prior.

Categories of note are included below, along with comparison data from the prior period.

  • Animal control: 43 (up from 34)
  • 911 hangups: 36 (down from 45)
  • Code enforcement: 34 (down from 37)
  • Traffic accidents: 44 (up from 30)
  • Vehicle violations: 147 (down from 181)
  • Theft: 45 (up from 37)
  • Homeless-related: 34 (up from 27)
  • Vandalism: 7 (down from 10)
  • Violent/threats: 22 (down from 32)
  • Disturbance: 87 (down from 119)
  • Suspicious circumstances: 157 (up from 144)

Citrus Heights police resumed publishing of daily incident logs in March 2023. The department notes that its logs “are not intended as a full and complete list of all police activity,” with some information not displayed for legal reasons, such as arrests of minors. As such, police advise that summary totals based on public logs may differ from weekly incident and arrest totals posted by police on social media.

The department notes on its website that: “All arrested suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty. Additionally, the original crimes, nature of offenses, and charges may be amended or dismissed as further information is made available.”
