Sentinel staff report–
During the city’s Jan. 11 council meeting, staff unveiled a new online platform designed to foster community involvement in Citrus Heights through volunteering.

Mayor Bret Daniels in a subsequent news release from the city on Friday said the new Citrus Heights Volunteer Hub is “a direct answer” to a question he said he and other council members often receive: “How can I get involved and make a difference?”

The city says its new hub was designed to connect residents, organizations, and businesses with diverse volunteering opportunities. Residents can create accounts to discover and participate in community service projects tailored to their interests, skills, and availability.

The platform facilitates service groups, businesses, and organizations in posting volunteer opportunities for community events and serves as a bridge between volunteers and organizers, creating a space for meaningful connections and enabling participants to gauge the impact of their contributions.

In addition to promoting community engagement, the city said in a Jan. 12 news release that the Volunteer Hub actively supports Citrus Heights’ ongoing beautification initiatives. Residents can find opportunities to contribute to projects such as community clean-ups, tree plantings, and other beautification endeavors.

The Volunteer Hub can be found online at citrusheightsvolunteers.net.
