The Sunrise Recreation and Park District is marking a major milestone this fall with a 75th anniversary community jubilee, set for Saturday, Oct. 4, at Rusch Community Park.
The celebration will run from 4 to 9 p.m. and will be a family-friendly evening filled with activities, entertainment, and opportunities for neighbors to come together.
District officials say the event will highlight 75 years of parks, programs, and community service. The Jubilee will feature activities for all ages, including a car show, bounce houses, and multiple vendors, with live entertainment also planned.
Sunrise Recreation and Park District Administrator Kevin Huntzinger confirmed that Aeromyth, an Aerosmith tribute band, and Apple Z, are expected to perform during the celebration. The evening will culminate with a fireworks show to close out the night.
The 75th anniversary jubilee is being held in honor of the gifting of 15 acres of ranch land, donated by Fred and Julia Rusch in 1950, establishing the Sunrise Recreation and Park District. The Citrus Heights Historical Society will be conducting tours of the Rusch Home during the event, Huntzinger confirmed.
Today, Rusch Park is the largest park in the district, at just over 48 acres, according to the district’s website.
