An armed robbery occurred just after midnight on Thursday morning at a fast food restaurant on the border of Citrus Heights, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Amar Gandhi said deputies received a report around 12:40 a.m. on Nov. 13 of an armed robbery at a fast food restaurant at the corner of Fair Oaks Boulevard and Greenback Lane. Gandhi said the suspect entered the store through a back door and confronted two employees at gunpoint.
According to authorities, both employees fled out the front entrance of the store to safety. The suspect then made off with an unknown amount of cash and one of the employees’ backpacks before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.
Gandhi reported that the business did not have interior security cameras, limiting available evidence in the ongoing investigation. The suspect remains at large, and detectives are working to identify the individual responsible.
As of Thursday morning, deputies had not released a suspect description. The Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information about the suspect’s whereabouts to contact police.
