Louis “Lou” William Martell III passed quietly on September 10, 2025, from natural causes, with his loving son Louis IV and daughter Gwendolyn at his bedside.
Lou was born August 3, 1951, in the San Francisco Bay Area to engineer/architect and WWII veteran Louis William Martell Jr. and corporate-accountant and mother Mary Benita Martell (née Bibb).
He has a sister Daniella.
Louis William Martell III was a SAR (Son of the American Revolution) with Freemason heritage.

Lou was an antique auto enthusiast, as was his father, with Louis Sr. being an early Vice President of Ford Motor Co.
At 14, Lou was ticketed for taking his first Ford Model T on a busy road to test his engine repairs.   Ahooga!

Lou collected antiques and old coins
He was a funny guy, a comedian, and a born leader.
He enjoyed his pets, watching Dr. Who episodes, garage sales, trade shows, and a good bargain.
He excelled at Little League Baseball, was a high school long-distance track star, his son’s troop leader for the Boy Scouts, and more.

Lou lived for his children.
Lou was a devoted son, brother, grandson, and father, and loved by his family.
