A two-vehicle collision resulting in a vehicle bursting into flames briefly shut down a local intersection Wednesday morning.
Citrus Heights Police responded around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning to Auburn Boulevard and Carriage Drive in Citrus Heights to reports of a traffic collision and a vehicle on fire.
Authorities reported that the crash did not result in any injuries, and all individuals involved were able to safely exit their vehicles. Fire crews quickly arrived to extinguish the flames.
Both vehicles were later towed from the scene, authorities said. The intersection remained closed for approximately 30 minutes while crews cleared debris and ensured the roadway was safe for travel.
A resident’s video posted to a local social media group shows one of the vehicles engulfed in flames as firefighters worked to control the blaze.
Traffic returned to normal once the intersection reopened shortly after the scene was cleared.
