An adult male died after suffering an unknown medical emergency while at Rusch Park near the skate park, officials say.
A ‘medical emergency’ occurred near the skate park at Rusch Community Park on Tuesday afternoon just before 2:30 p.m. according to Sacramento Metro Fire District incident information logs.
Witnesses reported seeing an individual lying on the ground with at least one fire truck and one ambulance in the vicinity.
Captain Mark Nunez with Sacramento Metro Fire District said Tuesday afternoon the incident involved a 40-year-old male who became unresponsive near the skate park on Antelope Road.
Metro Fire arrived within two minutes, Nunez said. CPR was being initiated by bystanders.
“Unfortunately, he was declared deceased after 20 minutes of advanced lifesaving care,” Nunez said.
The cause of the man’s unresponsiveness was unknown Tuesday afternoon, fire officials said.
Citrus Heights Police are said to be investigating the incident according to fire officials. Police did not return a request for comment before press time.
This is a developing story.
