Nomination submissions for the upcoming Legacy Business of Distinction Award for businesses in Citrus Heights that have existed for 15 years or more will be closing on Feb. 6.
Through the Business of Distinction program, launched in the fall of 2025, the city is seeking to highlight businesses that contribute to the character, innovation, and resilience of Citrus Heights and recognizes their impact on daily community life.
The Winter 2026 award cycle will focus on the Legacy Business Award, which honors Citrus Heights businesses with at least 15 years of service that have made long-standing contributions to the community through sustained service and connection. Nominations for the Legacy Business Award opened in January and will close on Feb. 6. Residents can nominate their favorite business that fits the applicable category for this quarter on the city’s website.
Afterward, residents will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite nominated business.
Each award cycle will feature a different theme, with nominations and selections designed to highlight a range of contributions and strengths within the local business community.
In the fall of 2025, the ‘Civic Heights’ Business Distinction award recognized businesses that demonstrate the city’s core values including diversity, innovation, integrity, teamwork, respect, responsive customer service, and trust. During that award cycle, Byers Gymnastics, located at 7700 Sunrise Blvd., Suite 2200, was recognized.
Future award cycles will recognize businesses in a ‘Top of the Trade’ category in the spring, followed by the ‘Blight to Bright’ award’ planned for the summer of 2026.
Visit the city’s Business of Distinction website for more information about how to nominate, how to vote, and future categories.
