The free series will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on three Friday nights, behind Jamba Juice at 6061 Sunrise Blvd., beginning Friday evening, April 3.
The lineup includes Aces on April 3, Department of Rock on April 17 and Hack Attack on May 1. Along with live music, guests can expect a variety of local food trucks, and a beer and wine garden hosted by the Rotary Club of Citrus Heights.
The announcement of the ‘Backyard Bash” concert series comes following the cancelation of last year’s Brews in the ‘Burbs event that had been taking place annually since 2019.
Sunrise MarketPlace Executive Director Katihlynn Carpenter said in an email Wednesday that the Brews in the Burbs event was “very expensive” and because it was a brew fest that brought together dozens of breweries, the organization charged an entry fee for attendees.
Another Backyard Bash event had also been planned for last fall, separate from the brew fest event, but the planned date conflicted with Sunrise Recreation and Park District’s 75th anniversary Jubilee celebration.
Carpenter said the business district strives to bring fun, free events to the district to bring awareness to shops and businesses, and that expenses are offset by sponsorship funding. The only exception was the Brews in the Burbs in the past.
Republic Services and State Assembly Member Josh Hoover are listed as sponsors for the event.
The Backyard Bash Spring Band series begins April 3 and will be held behind Jamba Juice at 6061 Sunrise Blvd. in the Marketplace at Birdcage.
