City: Upcoming night roadwork, repaving slated for Madison Avenue

By Sara Beth Williams–
Drivers traveling along Madison Avenue should expect overnight lane reductions beginning Sunday as Sacramento County starts a roadway improvement project between San Juan Avenue and Fair Oaks Boulevard.

According to a notice shared by the City of Citrus Heights, initial construction is scheduled to begin March 22 and will focus on approximately three weeks of concrete work, Americans with Disabilities Act ramp upgrades, and pavement repairs.

During construction, motorists can expect two lanes to be closed in each direction overnight, leaving one lane open each way between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Temporary parking restrictions will also be in effect in work areas, and nearby residents may experience nighttime construction noise while crews are active.

County officials said that after the first phase is completed, construction crews will shift to other project locations before returning in mid-to-late May for final repaving of the corridor.

The work is being managed by Ghilotti Construction Company on behalf of Sacramento County.

Residents with questions or concerns about the project are encouraged to contact Sacramento County at 916-875-2700 or Ghilotti Construction at 707-585-1221 for the most current project details.
