A two-vehicle collision Thursday morning temporarily closed lanes at the intersection of Greenback Lane and Mariposa Avenue near San Juan High School after one driver allegedly ran a red light, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department.
The crash was reported shortly before 8 a.m. and after arriving and investigating, police said a woman driving through the intersection ran a red light and collided with another vehicle.
Authorities said there are no signs of the driver having been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at this time.
Both vehicles sustained enough damage to require towing from the scene. One driver complained of pain and was transported to a hospital for evaluation. The extent of the injuries was not immediately known Wednesday morning.
Several lanes were closed for 30 to 45 minutes while officers worked to investigate the collision and clear the roadway.
