The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins, from Feb. 24 through Feb. 25, 2016.
Feb. 24, 2016: total of 54 incidents listed.
12:51 p.m., Panhandling, Sunrise Blvd. A caller reported that a panhandling woman was “pretending to be disabled in a wheelchair” in front of Food Maxx. After receiving money from people, she was reportedly seen running to her vehicle to put the money inside. Disposition listed: unable to locate.
9:03 p.m., Injury collision, Antelope/Zenith. A vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision was reported at the intersection of Antelope Road and Zenith Drive, with a man reportedly in the roadway not moving and injured. (See additional coverage in News Briefs)
Other incidents of note: 15 disturbance-related (noise, verbal, etc.), seven shoplifting/petty theft reports, four homeless-related (loitering, camping), two stolen vehicle reports (one “unfounded”), six reports of suspected DUIs, two assault reports.
Feb. 25, 2016: total of 46 incidents listed.
12:05 p.m., Burglary, Lowe’s on Greenback Lane. Loss Prevention staff at Lowe’s reported that two men entered the store on Feb. 23 and grabbed three DeWalt power tools and gloves. The pair then left through the fire exit to a waiting getaway vehicle. The entire incident was caught on video surveillance. Disposition listed: report taken.
9:46 p.m., Injury hit-and-run, Auburn/Antelope. A caller reported a hit-and-run accident involving a bicyclist at Auburn Boulevard and Antelope Road. The caller was following the vehicle involved, listed as a blue Chevy Equinox. Disposition listed: report taken.
9:49 p.m., Petty theft, Walgreens on Dewey Dr. A customer was reportedly inside the store “yelling at employees because they couldn’t find her photo order.” After a manager asked her to leave, she became “irate” and took several drinks from the store without paying. She then repeatedly called back to say she was going to have the employee who called police “beat up.” She also said she would “have someone throw rocks at the store window.” Disposition listed: advised.
Other incidents of note: 14 disturbance-related (noise, verbal, etc.), four homeless-related, two assault reports (one “unfounded”), one suspected DUI driver report.
