The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletin for April 1-7, 2018.
Saturday, April 7, 2018: Total of 47 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 11 disturbance-related, 1 homeless-related, 8 suspicious activity calls, 2 burglaries, 7 petty thefts, no grand thefts, 2 assault reports, and 3 collisions.
8:00 a.m., Burglary Vehicle, Trailride Wy. A vehicle window was reportedly smashed and the interior rummaged through on Trailride Way, near Van Maren Lane. No suspect information was known. Disposition listed: advised.
11:10 a.m., Petty Theft, Sugar Maple Wy. Police were notified that a man’s rear license plate had been stolen, apparently while parked on Sugar Maple Way near Tempo Park. About 45 minutes later, another police log indicates that another man reported his rear license plate was stolen the prior day while parked at Carriage Drive Elementary. Reports were taken for both incidents.
1:55 p.m., Shoplifting, Target on Sunrise Blvd. Police were contacted by loss prevention staff at Target after a male shoplifter was detained. Disposition listed: arrest.
3:51 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Durham St. A “suspicious bag” in front of a woman’s gate prompted police to be contacted. The item was described as a brown paper bag that was taped over the top and had the word “romance” written on it, but it was not addressed. The woman told police she did not feel comfortable opening the bag to investigate further. Disposition listed: cancelled.
4:12 p.m., Petty Theft, Rite Aid at Sunrise/Arcadia. A shoplifter allegedly put on some stolen clothing from Rite Aid and became argumentative when confronted by store staff. He then left and was reportedly seen “making threats and possibly brandishing a knife.” Disposition listed: Assisted
4:20 p.m., Robbery, Wells Fargo at Birdcage/Sunrise. Police were advised that a robbery had just occurred at the Wells Fargo branch office located in the MarketPlace at Birdcage, off Sunrise Boulevard. No weapons were used, but a “note was passed.” Disposition listed: report taken.
6:19 p.m., Petty Theft, Saint Philomena Wy. Unknown suspects reportedly broke through a fence and stole an inoperable wood chipper from the backyard of a vacant home. The home had been the site of a recent fire, causing it to be vacated while repairs were made. Disposition listed: advised.
6:27 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Paradise Oaks on Antelope Rd. A woman reported that a chair had apparently been thrown into her backyard by children at a group home next door. She said the children were also throwing rocks into her backyard. Disposition listed: advised.
Friday, April 6, 2018: Total of 84 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 19 disturbance-related, 8 homeless-related, 20 suspicious activity calls, 2 burglaries, 6 petty thefts, 1 grand theft, 6 assault reports, and 11 collisions.
2:14 a.m., Assault, Longford Dr. A woman reported being bit on the thumb and forearm after a fight with an “unknown” man and woman. Disposition listed: assisted.
8:33 a.m., Stolen Vehicle, Avis/Budget Rental on Auburn Blvd. Police were notified that a white Budget cargo van had been rented out in January and was never returned. The caller requested a report be filed listing the vehicle as stolen. Disposition listed: report taken.
12:14 p.m., Assault, 7-Eleven, Van Maren/Auburn. A transient woman was reportedly “yelling and trying to hit customers with her skateboard” in front of the 7-Eleven store. Disposition listed: advised.
1:42 p.m., Indecent Exposure, San Juan High School. A man in his mid-twenties reportedly had his “pants and underwear down” while on school property. When police were contacted, the man had put his clothes back on and was walking on Greenback Lane, away from the school. Disposition listed: “Field ID.”
5:34 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, CHPD on Fountain Square Dr. Police were advised that a man and woman were in the police department parking lot in a verbal argument that had also been physical. Disposition listed: report taken.
9:54 p.m., Suspicious Vehicle, Denny’s. An officer initiated contact with a suspicious vehicle outside the former Denny’s restaurant on Sunrise Blvd. Disposition listed: arrest.
11:25 p.m., Montage Apartments on Fair Oaks Blvd. Police were notified that a smoke alarm had been going off for the past 10 minutes at an apartment “due to the excessive marijuana smoke inside.” The caller said residents could be heard laughing inside the apartment as well. Disposition listed: advised.
