The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Friday, May 3, 2019. Additional bulletins are linked at the end of this article.
Friday, May 3, 2019: Total of 85 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 20 calls regarding suspicious activities, 21 disturbance-related, 12 homeless/transient-related, 1 grand theft, 5 petty thefts, 1 burglary, 8 assault reports, 9 collisions, 2 stolen vehicles, and 5 reports of domestic violence.
2:00 a.m., Disturbance Loitering, Citrus Heights Community Center on Fountain Square Drive. Transients were reportedly “leaving trash and drug paraphernalia” outside the Community Center, located across from the police department on Fountain Square Drive.
5:43 a.m., Burglary, Wexford Cr. A woman told police she had just come home and found an “unknown male on her couch.” The incident was listed as a burglary, although no further description was included in the log.
5:47 a.m., Collision Unknown Injury, Olivia Ln. Medical attention was requested after police were told a vehicle had run into a garage at the Sunrise Lofts apartments, located just off Sunrise Boulevard near Madera Park.
10:26 a.m., Assault, Walmart on Auburn Blvd. Police were told that “vicious dogs” were chasing people at Walmart, and a group of eight men were reportedly fighting with knives.
1:01 p.m., Grand Theft, Greenback Manor Apartments on Greenback Ln. A catalytic converter was stolen from the exhaust system on a 2007 Prius that was parked at an apartment complex on Greenback Lane.
3:38 p.m., Fraud/Forgery, Shadow Hawk Dr. Police were contacted by someone who said they had been given gift cards to Walmart as a gift, but there were no funds on the cards. The incident was listed as fraud or forgery.
3:34 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Copperwood Square Shopping Center on Sunrise Blvd. A “suspicious cooler” was reported in the Food Maxx shopping center, with a “decomposing smell” described as coming it.
6:38 p.m., Robbery, Ranch Motel on Auburn Blvd. A robbery reportedly occurred at the Ranch Motel involving a drug deal “gone bad.”
6:40 p.m., Stolen Vehicle, Shovelers Ln. A man told police that his friend had taken his keys and stolen his vehicle while he was in the shower the previous day.
9:49 p.m., Assault, Sierra Glen Apartments on Auburn Oaks Ct. Two men were reportedly fist-fighting in front of an apartment complex.
10:16 p.m., Collision Injury, Sayonara Dr. A caller told police their friend was in a vehicle accident on Sayonara Drive and was trapped inside her car.
10:30 p.m., Disturbance Loitering, Rite Aid at Madison/Sunrise. Five transients were reportedly inside Rite Aid “causing problems and trying to steal.”
