Suspect arrested in Citrus Heights stabbing
Citrus Heights police said a 23-year-old suspect was arrested on May 15 and charged with attempted murder in a stabbing incident that occurred near the 7440 Club on Auburn Boulevard in March. Police had reached out to the public last month seeking help to identify a suspect vehicle in the case. (See more)

Structure demolished at site of historic Citrus Heights church
Drivers travelling along Old Auburn Road on Wednesday and Thursday likely saw demolition of an accessory building underway at the historic Pioneer Baptist Church. A congregation member told The Sentinel the church demolished the aging structure due to a lack of space at the site. The growing congregation is currently pursuing plans to build a new 30,000-square-foot church building on Auburn Boulevard, across from Rusch Park.

TV station re-airs footage from 1978 showing cruising near Sunrise Mall
KCRA 3 on Thursday re-aired footage from 40 years ago showing heavy nighttime traffic near Sunrise Mall, during a time when cruising was popular. The station aired the footage as part of a story on the city’s recent decision to remove “no U-turn” signage that was originally installed to limit cruising.

Supervisor Frost to host community meeting in Citrus Heights Monday night
Sacramento County Supervisor Sue Frost will hold a community meeting at Citrus Heights City Hall on May 20 at 6 p.m. She will be joined by Councilman Steve Miller. Second open house meeting to discuss 2.9-mile trail set for Tuesday night
The City of Citrus Heights will hold another community open house this Tuesday to discuss plans for a 2.9-mile paved trail project, known as the Electric Greenway Trail Project. The meeting will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the Sunrise Tech Center, located at 7322 Sunrise Blvd. (See more)
