By Rylie Friesen- A high-profile hearing involving the suspected Golden State Killer, Joseph James DeAngelo, will be held on Monday, June 29, at 9:30 a.m.
The court hearing will be live-streamed on the Sacramento Superior Court’s Youtube channel. A press conference will also be held after the hearing, at 3 p.m., which will also be broadcast live on Youtube.
The Sacramento Bee reported that the hearing will be held at Sacramento State University Union’s Ballroom, which can hold up to 2,000 guests.
Speaking at the press conference will be Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert, along with district attorneys from five other counties where the Golden State Killer is believed to be responsible for numerous rapes and murders during the 1970s and 80s.
DeAngelo, who lived in Citrus Heights up until his arrest in 2018, is expected to plead guilty to avoid the death penalty.
