Multiple power outages hit Citrus Heights
Thousands of Citrus Heights residents lost power on Monday and Wednesday last week, according to SMUD outage maps. The Sacramento Bee reported 29,000 customers lost power around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, and another 18,000 lost power on Monday. It is unclear what the cause of the outages was. (See SacBee article)

‘Electioneering’ reported outside vote centers in Citrus Heights
CBS Sacramento reported two incidents of “electioneering” in Citrus Heights on Election Day, one at City Hall and another at a vote center on Mariposa Avenue. In both cases, individuals wearing Trump attire came within 100 feet of polling centers, in violation of the law. In one case, several individuals were reportedly heckling voters standing in line. Police were called, but no arrests were made. (See CBS video)

Free flu shots to be offered at community center
The Sacramento County Public Health Department will be offering free flu shots at the Citrus Heights Community Center this Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Shots will be given on a walk-in basis, with no identification required. (Read more)

Citrus Heights Marching Band hosts outdoor veterans concert
Band members with the Citrus Heights Community Marching Band set up outside Sunrise Mall Saturday evening for an hour-long performance in honor of those who have served in the nation’s armed forces. A video recording of the concert can be viewed on YouTube. (See video)
