Sylvan Cemetery will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m.
The cemetery, located at 7401 Auburn Blvd. in Citrus Heights, will be saluting all men and women who have served in the military since 1775, according to news release sent out by organizer Jim Monteton.
A march through the cemetery is planned, as well as patriotic songs presented by Tom Galovich. The event will last about an hour
Seating arrangements are not mandatory but folding chairs will be provided. Organizers are asking those who attend to bring masks and practice social distancing.
November 11 is a federal holiday, celebrating all those who have fought in the military over the past 245 years. It originated as a celebration of the end of World War 1 and differs with Memorial Day, which honors those who have fallen in battle.
