Model homes for Heritage at Mitchell Village in Citrus Heights are now open, as roadways are still being laid in the 56-acre site.
Plans show additional communities for the former Sunrise Golf Course will be Oaks at Mitchell Village, and Canyon at Mitchell Village. Floor plans vary with each community, with the largest being a 2,385-square-foot home with three to five bedrooms in the Heritage at Mitchell Village community.
All homes are designed to be energy efficient, and buyers can select various water-efficient landscape designs. The interiors are brightly lit with electronic controls for the thermostat.
The development is located off Fair Oaks Boulevard, within walking distance of Sunrise Mall. An additional access point will be off Arcadia Drive, where a roundabout is still under construction.
KB Home Senior Director of Public Relations and Communications Craig LeMessurier said the model homes feature an optional office room, which buyers can select during the design phase of their purchase. The new concept is a response to more people working from home during the pandemic, according to LeMessuier.
Buyers can schedule a tour to view the models by contacting the sales office. Walk-ins are also welcome, although a sales counselor at the site told The Sentinel the number of buyers allowed to tour the model homes at the same time, due to COVID-19.
The Citrus Heights project includes plans for groupings of homes into several “villages,” with differing layouts and sizes ranging from around 1,400-square-feet to approximately 2,000-square-feet.
A popular aspect of the Mitchell Farms project has been the large amount of open space incorporated in the development, as a large swath down the middle of the acreage must remain undeveloped due to a 100-year flood plain associated with Arcade Creek.
Under an agreement with the Sunrise Recreation and Parks District, the undeveloped acreage is to be maintained by the parks district.
The pair of model homes are located at 6183 Neff Ct., although Google Maps has not yet been updated to accurately show the location. Neff Court is accessible at a new entrance just south of the Heather Downs apartment complex at 12633 Fair Oaks Blvd.
More information is available on KB Home’s website, although pricing is not listed. A news release issued last week referenced pricing “from the $440,000s” for the larger Heritage layouts. Pricing for the development’s smaller alley units has not been released.
