Sentinel staff report–
Residents in Citrus Heights who normally have waste pickup days on Friday will see their collection date delayed by one day for the next two weeks, due to Christmas and New Year’s Day falling on Friday.
In a post on Facebook, Republic Services, the city’s waste collection provider, said there will be no collections on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1, due to Christmas and New Year’s. Those with regular collection on those dates will instead see their pickup occur on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
Unlike in prior years, those with usual collection dates on other days of the week will not see their pickup schedule change.
Through Jan. 15, Republic Services also announced residents can recycle their live-cut trees — excluding flocked or decorated trees. Trees must be placed at the curbside next to trash collection bins for free pickup.
Live trees can also be cut into pieces and placed in green bins anytime.
