Authorities said Wednesday that a 43-year-old woman from Citrus Heights was arrested during a midnight traffic stop in Roseville, after a search of her purse and phone exposed evidence of identity theft.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office in a Facebook post said a deputy had pulled over a vehicle around 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 19, at Sierra College Boulevard and Eureka Road. A subsequent search of the driver’s purse and phone revealed she was in possession of a stolen drivers license, along with photos of multiple credit cards and ID cards belonging to other people.
The Sheriff’s Office said the arresting deputy had contacted the person on the drivers license and was told the wallet had been stolen and fraudulent charges had been made on the victim’s bank account.
The woman was identified as Jody Corbella, a resident of Citrus Heights who was on parole. She was arrested and charged with identity theft, possession of stolen property, and violation of parole.
