Sentinel staff report–
Citrus Heights cookie-lovers will soon have a new eatery in town to satisfy their cravings, if everything goes as planned for a new Crumbl Cookies location to open at 6920 Auburn Blvd.
Company spokeswoman Anna Tibbitts confirmed plans for the location in an email Monday, noting an estimated opening date of “end of June/beginning of July.” The shop will take up a vacant space in a newly constructed building on Auburn Boulevard in front of Costco and Walmart, sandwiched between an AT&T store and a haircut shop.
Signage on the vacant suite lists square footage for the location at about 1,200-square-feet . A look inside the front window on Tuesday indicated work has not begun at the site yet, with an empty interior and unfinished plywood sheets on the walls.
Crumbl Cookies first launched in 2017 and recently announced the opening of its 200th store nationwide, with the closest northern California locations being in Elk Grove and Roseville.
The eatery offers delivery, curbside, catering and shipping of its cookies, with the menu rotating each week to offer four different specialty flavors — along with standard milk chocolate chip and chilled sugar cookies, which are always available, according to the company’s website.
As of this week, current flavors listed online are “red velvet white chip,” served warm, a chilled banana cream pie cookie, “ultimate peanut butter,” and a “dirt cake” cookie with Oreo crumb toppings. The online menu also lists several ice cream flavors, served by the half-pint.
