The Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce is sitting on a stockpile of N95 masks and is looking for local businesses to distribute them to.
The Citrus Heights Chamber registered to distribute the masks ahead of new regulations expected to be released by the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, according to an email to The Sentinel by chamber executive director Diane Ebbitt-Riehle.
No other organizations registered with the program, Ebbitt-Riehle said, leaving the Citrus Heights Chamber as the only distributor in Sacramento county.
“Currently I have 20,000 N95 masks in our office,” Ebbitt-Riehle said Wednesday, noting that any business can receive a 30 day supply of the masks at no cost to the business.
“I think it’s important for the business community in Citrus Heights to know that the Chamber is here to help with advocacy, and do what we can to help businesses succeed,” she said.
The masks were part of the state’s supply, according to Ebbitt-Riehle. CalOES asked local business networks and chambers of commerce to distribute the masks.
