San Juan School District to release map options this Tuesday
Following a school board meeting on July 1, San Juan Unified School District members voted to make several modifications to criteria to be used for creating new electoral maps for electing members by districts. The briefs did not mention whether map options will include five or seven trustee areas, although some community members and the Citrus Heights City Council have called for increasing the current number of trustees to seven. Map options are slated to be released for public review on July 6, followed by additional meetings later this month. (See board briefs)
Three-day mermaid event coming to Rusch Park
The 8th annual California Mermaid Convention will be held at the pool at Rusch Park from July 9-11 this year. An article published Tuesday in The Sacramento Bee said the guests will be able to join mermaids for a swim in the pool on the second day of the event, as long as a vaccination card is shown for those age 16 and older.
