Sentinel staff report–
Joining the throng of businesses and agencies with job offerings and “now hiring” signs is the City of Citrus Heights in its search for a new city manager.
A job posting appearing online last week shows the city is willing to pay a base salary up to $260,000, along with a “competitive benefits package” for a new city manager to head a staff of 210 full-time employees and direct a budget of more than $70 million.
Qualifications for the position include holding a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in public administration, business administration, political science, or a related field, although the wording appears to indicate that qualifications listed are not requirements. Holding a master’s degree in public administration or equivalent is also listed as “highly desirable.”
Among challenges and opportunities listed in an eight-page recruitment brochure for the position is the potential redevelopment of Sunrise Mall, along with “a considerable amount of deferred maintenance” related to roadways.
The deadline to apply for the position is listed as Oct. 18, 2021. Applications can be submitted online.
