The San Juan Unified School District, which includes schools in Citrus Heights, Orangevale and other areas in eastern Sacramento County, is currently seeking to fill more than a total of 230 job vacancies.
According to the district’s online job postings at edjoin.org, positions range from minimum wage to more than $50 per hour, along with various salaried positions ranging from $2,500 per month to more than $6,000 per month.
Positions include child development assistants, teachers, instructional assistants, high school secretaries, sports coaches, counselors, equipment mechanics, librarians, and other positions. Requirements vary for each position. Most cite deadlines of mid-October to apply.
A posting for a high school secretary at San Juan High School shows a salary range of $3,093 to $3,900 per month, with 40-hour weeks. Requirements include the ability to type 50 net words per minute, with prior secretarial or clerical experience involving public contact preferred.
In addition to its postings on edjoin.org, the district has been featuring various job offerings on its Facebook page, announcing an upcoming “bus driver hiring event” set for Oct. 13, promoting a signing bonus of up to $2,000. Bus driver pay is listed at $17.26 to $21.61 per hour, depending on experience. Those interested are asked to call the district’s transportation office at (916) 971-7689 to register for the hiring event and schedule an interview.
The district also said it is seeking dedicated substitute teachers, offering flexible hours and pay up to $225 per day. Nutrition Services team members are also being sought, with pay beginning at $14 per hour and a signing bonus of $500 after 90 days with another $500 after completion of the first year.
