Sentinel staff report–
An early morning fire at a mobile home park in Citrus Heights on Friday killed several dogs and left the home a total loss, a fire official said.
Metro Fire Captain Parker Wilbourn said the fire was reported around 5:45 a.m. at Auburn Vista Mobile Home Park, located behind Bischoff’s Medical Supply store near Antelope Road and Auburn Boulevard. Firefighters arrived to find a mobile home “heavily involved” in fire, but quickly worked to extinguish the blaze.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to nearby mobile homes, and no one was injured in the blaze. Wilbourn said three dogs were killed.
The cause of fire appeared to be electrical, but the fire captain said an official determination was pending an investigation, as of Friday morning.
A fire in 2019 at the same park destroyed one mobile home and damaged another. One person was also found dead in a fire at another mobile home park in Citrus Heights last year.
