The Civic Minute: what’s happening at Citrus Heights City Hall?

Citrus Heights council members will meet Thursday evening to discuss drive-thru restaurants in Citrus Heights and vote on a permanent ordinance addressing fireworks in the city, along with other matters.

The council meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m., at City Hall. A summary of what’s on the 108-page agenda packet for the April 14 council meeting is included below.

Proclamations. Thursday’s meeting will begin with a series of four proclamations:

  • Proclamation honoring MealPro as a “Business Of Distinction”
  • Proclamation declaring April 10-16, 2022, as “National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week”
  • Proclamation declaring April 10-16, 2022, As “National Animal Care & Control Appreciation Week”
  • Proclamation declaring April 17-23, 2002, As “National Volunteer Week”

Subdivision. The council will consider approval of a final subdivision map for creating eight single-family residential parcels out of a 2.27-acre parcel on the west side of Wachtel Way near Old Auburn Road. A tentative map was previously approved in 2006.

Sunrise MarketPlace. The council will consider approving a 2021 annual report from the Sunrise MarketPlace property-based improvement district. The report shows the district received a little over $1 million in assessment income and also highlights events and activities from the past year, along with documenting a drop in crime and plans for more events and improvements through 2024.

Fireworks. The council will consider permanent adoption of a temporary urgency ordinance passed last year, which give law enforcement a way to hold landlords and party hosts responsible for illegal fireworks being set off, and banning all fireworks from being discharged after 11 p.m. See more: Citrus Heights council to vote on making fireworks ordinance permanent

Drive-thru’s.
