CHPD: Missing 12-year-old girl located after overnight search

A missing 12-year-old girl who had last been seen walking home from school in Citrus Heights on Thursday was located by police Friday morning.

The Citrus Heights Police Department had sent out a missing child alert to media shortly before 1 a.m. Friday, with a photo and description of the girl. Police said she had last been seen on Primrose Drive near Kingswood K-8 school around 11:30 a.m. on April 28.

The department sent out an update around 8 a.m. Friday saying that the missing girl “was just located and returned home safe and sound by CHPD.”
