Sentinel staff report–
After putting the annual event on pause during the coronavirus pandemic, the Veterans Community Center on Sylvan Road will again be hosting its annual Spaghetti Dinner and Wine Fundraiser this Saturday.
According to a news release the fundraiser will be held from 4-7 p.m. on May 14, located at 6921 Sylvan Rd. Tickets run $20 and include dinner, dessert and a glass of wine or substitute. Tickets can be purchased by emailing info@veteranscommunityctr.org.
Funds raised during the event will go to support the center’s various programs, activities, resources and meals for area veterans, the center says.
The event will also serve as a “2022 Re-Open House” for the facility, according to the center’s president, Jeanne Rounsavell.
“We are excited about re-opening after interior renovations. We invite everyone to come celebrate and support our veterans with us and learn more about what we do at the center,” said Rounsavell.
The Veterans Community Center was co-founded by veteran Jim Rounsavell, who passed away last year. The center is located in a historic building, once home to Citrus Heights’ first, one-room schoolhouse.
