Sentinel staff report–
Families with kids and those interested in a career in public works are invited to a Public Works Showcase event to be held at Van Maren Park in Citrus Heights on May 19.
The event will be held Thursday from 2-6 p.m. at the park, located at 6601 Thalia Way, about a block away from City Hall. Parking for the event will be available at City Hall as well as along Stock Ranch Road.
An event posting from the city on Facebook says attendees “will have the opportunity to explore careers in public works by meeting local vendors, contractors, utilities, and technical/vocational schools.” Kids will also have a chance to “meet the people behind the machines and experience the BIG TRUCKS up close!”
An event flier also says heavy equipment, career and job information booths, and refreshments will also be on site.
